FREE VISION AND HEARING SCREENING – The Tuscola County Health Department
will be offering free Vision and Hearing screening for any child who will be
entering school in the fall. Screening
will be done on July 14th and August 11th, between the
hours of 11:15 am – 6:15 pm, at the Tuscola County Health Department, 1309
Cleaver Road, Caro, MI. To Schedule an
appointment, please call the Department at 989-673-8114, extension 141. The purpose of this screening is for early
identification of a possible vision or hearing problem. This screening is mandatory before your child
can go to Kindergarten.

IMMUNIZATIONS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2015 –
16 – Waivers will
no longer be available from Trinity Lutheran School. Parents will be required to contact the
Health Department, make an appointment, and have a short interview before a
waiver will be given. This should take
no more than 15 minutes. DO NOT ALTER
THE WAIVER in any way. We will not be
able to accept altered forms. You will have to go BACK to the Health
Department for another form. Your child can be excluded from school if we have
not received the waiver by the first day of school. To keep your child’s immunizations
up to date, please contact the Health Department during the summer for an
appointment. Don’t wait until 2 weeks
before school starts – appointments may be in short supply!

LOONS GAME – June 18th The Board of Youth is organizing a
Family Fun Night to a Great Lakes Loons game. The game is on and the cost is
$9.50 per ticket. It is a family feast night which is $1 each for hot dogs,
pop, chips, and ice cream sandwiches. The park opens at 5 pm and you can come
and get a tour of the park and watch the players practice. Game starts at 7:05 pm.
We have 20 reserved tickets. If you are interested please contact Vicky Durkee
CHURCH CAMPOUT – Dates are June 19, 20, 21. Money will need to be to Mrs. Dankert by
Monday, June 1st. Cost: $33 a night.

PERSONAL CARE AND BEAUTY BRIGADE – We are accepting hair
care such as shampoo bottles and caps, conditioner bottles and caps, hair gel
tubes and caps, hair spray bottles and triggers, and hair paste plastic jars
and caps. Skin care packaging such as lip balm tubes, face soap dispensers and
tubes, face lotion bottles, tubes and plastic jars, body wash containers, soap
tubes and dispensers, body lotion dispensers and bottles, shaving foam tubes
(no cans), and hand lotion bottles and tubes.
Also, cosmetic packaging such as lipstick cases, lip gloss tubes,
mascara tubes, eye shadow cases, bronzer cases, foundation packaging and bottles, powder cases, eyeliner cases,
eyeliner pencils, eye shadow tubes, concealer tubes, concealer sticks, and lip

CONTINUE TO SAVE – Box tops from
General Mills throughout the summer. Since 2004 we have received $8,150.
SAVEold dried up pens and markers, tape dispensers and cores. Bring these items to the school office or the
REWARDS– Save all bottle caps and the tear-off codes on 12- and 24-packs of cans of
all Coke products. Also, save the caps
from Sprite, Minute Maid, Fanta, Barq’s, Fresca, Mello Yellow, Mr. Pibb, Nestea
and the shrink wrap of Dasani water.

PLEASE SAVE: Used Ink Cartridges/Phones – Please save all
used laser cartridges, inkjet cartridges and old cell phones. A box is provided across from the library to
drop off items.

Kool-Aid (rinsed out!). We receive 2 cents for each. All others – we receive 1 cent
BREAD UPC’S– We earn 5 cents for each UPC turned in.
Lutheran Church, Munger, is selling cookbooks for $10. All proceeds from the sale of these books
will go to the Caring Christian Friends program. This program helps those in need within the
congregation and in the community throughout the year with food assistance,
holiday food baskets, purchasing gifts for any tags that aren’t taken off the
Christmas Caring Tree and various other needs.
We have copies available in Trinity’s school/church office. You may also contact the office at
Trinity-St. James at 659-2506 to purchase or contact Tammy Hopp at
225-8440. Any cookbooks purchased will
be brought to Trinity and available for pick up in the church/school office.
